If You Be True To Them, They Won't Be False To You

The most basic treatment option is getting a cleaning. It is recommended that you obtain a cleaning at least twice per year. Most insurance companies will cover 100% for this procedure.

Some patients may need to have more frequent cleanings due to their periodontal condition. If you are periodontally involved, you may require advanced treatment called scaling & root planing. Ask us at your next appointment if it is necessary.

Fillings are the treatment option if slight feelings of discomfort due to decay occur or preexisting fillings go bad. For small restorations, a tooth-colored filling is the main type used at our practice, but Amalgam is still kept handy for those who still love the look of "silver" in their mouth. Larger cavities/lesions may require inlays, onlays, or even crowns.

Having a severe toothache lasting for days usually means root canal therapy is needed in order to prevent the tooth from being extracted. However, not all teeth can be salvaged with such treatment. It is suggested that a crown be placed on the tooth following such therapy to assist in the structural integrity of the tooth.

Teeth unable to be restored should undergo extraction. This can be done either routinely (no cutting required), or surgically ( bone cutting rquired). For most practitioners, this is the last resort.

It is recommended that teeth lost by extraction be replaced (except wisdom teeth). Replacement options include:

                    a) removable partial denture (RPD): least desirable

                    b) fixed partial denture (FPD)

                    c) implant : most desirable

Not all patients will be able to get the most desirable option as there are limitations to each.

To enhance your smile, we also employ some methods of cosmetic dentistry.

See your friendly dentist as he can help decide which replacement option is right for you.
