They are pretty robust as they are made from medical-grade porcelain. At De Lucs Dental, LLC, we offer these advanced restorations and make sure you will never regret the decision of getting Lumineers.

How Can Lumineers Help?

Lumineers is a procedure that is recommended for patients with minor teeth rotations and gaps. It is a bonding technique that requires no resizing of the tooth’s enamel to achieve natural teeth appearance. However, there are several other uses of Lumineers, including:

  • Lumineers can be fitted onto the slightly misaligned teeth. It can be a cheaper alternative than wearing dental braces.
  • Lumineers are thin and have a transparent look; they offer a better solution for stained teeth and discoloration.
  • Lumineers can be used to close the wide gaps between the teeth.
  • Lumineers help make small or misshapen teeth perfect by appearing aligned with the rest of the teeth.
  • Lumineers help in improving the aesthetics of your teeth. A flawless smile is a vital self-esteem booster.

What Is the Procedure for Lumineers?

The Lumineers procedure can be accomplished in just two visits to our office. During the initial visit, our dentist, Dr. Gary Lucombe, will perform a thorough exam of your teeth to ensure your suitability for the process. If you are fit for the Lumineers procedure, impressions of your upper and lower set of teeth are taken. The impressions are then sent over to our dental lab for their manufacture. It may take a couple of days for the Lumineers to get ready. In the Lumineers process, removing the tooth enamel is not required, as they are directly attached to the tooth’s surface.

During your subsequent appointment, the teeth are prepared to make sure that they accommodate the restoration. The Lumineers are attached to the surface of the affected tooth with the help of a bonding agent. After the attachment, the patient’s bite will be checked as an irregular symmetry can result in the premature chipping or cracking of the Lumineers. They can last for two decades or more, provided you maintain proper oral hygiene.
